I am a very conscientious person, and believe that it is my responsibility to ensure that all children are provided with the opportunity towards gaining success. It is important that educators actively have an inclusive and highly professional attitude towards diverse families and children, whilst also being friendly and approachable. Professionally, I have very high expectations of myself, and success in this area is partly due to me being able to communicate effectively, and critically reflect upon my own practice.
It is an educators duty to care for their students and adhere to particular policies and procedures, but genuine care and concern for the children in my class and school has also been demonstrated when I have gone 'beyond the call of duty'. Some of the ways this was shown was through coming in for extra days I have not been required to attend, arriving prepared and early in order to spend time with the children, and using much of my time when I haven't been in the classroom to reflect, research and carefully prepare resources and plan lessons to match my students particular interests and needs.
